Our day at the Coast!

The past week in the Pacific Northwest has been so beautiful and unusally warm and sunny for Febraury! We've been around 60* and it's been so great! It's giving us an early Spring and it's been nice!

On Saturday, we wanted to go somewhere outside and spend the day as a family together. We were thinking of going to the Zoo, but then Alex suggested going to the beach so that we All could go together, All meaning bringing the dogs too! So, we thought that was a great idea.

We stopped for lunch at Burger King and we were off. We went the HWY 30 route and through Astoria and came to Fort Stevens' Patterson Park. I think that's the name of the section that has the beached sunken ship! The kids loved it. It was very warm and sunny and they even played in the ocean a bit, saying it wasn't too cold actually! There was hill-like Dune that the kids used as a slide and would come rolling down it! They also found a few other kids and played well with them doing the same thing.
Sofy played in the sand mostly and did alot of Sand Angels!!
The dogs had fun too and I think it was the first time for Boudreaux, and of course Rocky loves the beach.

We played on the beach for about 2 hours or so and then we got ready to go to Cannon Beach to go to Mo's for dinner. We got there and it was packed!! They said it would be like a 30 minute wait, so I figured that the kids could play at the little playground in the parking lot and they did that for about 10 or so minutes. I brought them into the restaurant and Jason was still waiting near the doors. The girls and I went into the restroom and by the time we came out they were already seated!! It happened that fast!
We had a wonderful dinner. Alex got a bowl of Clam Chowder, Sofy got a cup and ate about 12-15 or so packages of crackers!!! We also got an appetiser of artichoke/shrimp dip and their yummy garlic bread! It was fantastic! Jason got his Clam Fritters and I got the Shimp skewers and got an extra one for $2 for Bella to have her own! She ended up eating about 10 of them!!!!!
After dinner, I drove us home and Jason made a quick run into Winco and got all the fixings for Ice Cream Sundaes! The kids loved them and it was the perfect end to our wonderful family day!!!!
Sofy had barely finished hers when she was ready to go to sleep. She's our early to bed child and is usually in bed around 8 and we got home about 9:30, so she was exhausted!! The rest of us stayed up for a bit and went to bed too!!

What a wondeful and fun day we had and had that time to spend together as a family and for a great memory for our kids!!!

Alex's Field Trip...

A few days ago, Alex told me that his class was having a field trip and wanted to know if I can go with him. Annie offered to watch Bella for me, so yesterday, she and my Dad came and took her home with them and she's had fun having a sleep-over at Grammi and Papa's house for a few days!!
His class went to Century High School and the drama department was having their annual musical and this year it was "The Music Man". I've actually never really seen it, so it was new to me too. It was my first time being in a school bus since I was in Jr High! Were those seats small!! LOL
Alex did great, but he's obviosly not really a boy that's into musicals, so he was pretty bored. He said that the only other place that was more boring that seeing that Play was school! LOL. He and I shared a laugh because as he said the word school, and I said it outloud too!
We had a great time though, and it was so fun to spend that time with him. Thanks so my awesome family for being here for me and being willing to take care of my kids when the other needs and wants me for special events like this!
